KeymasterWe were appointed last month to deliver the landscape and public realm for the new Doncaster Library with Bond Bryan. The scheme extends Ben’s relationship with the town after having first delivered Waterdale Doncaster on the adjacent sites whilst still at Whitelaw Turkington.

KeymasterKate presented the Ogdon Private residence to the OPUN Design Review Panel last Friday (same one that’s reviewed our Chesterfield Waterside Scheme). The scheme got a great response. The Architect on the panel Chris Twomey from Axis Architects said “there is a clarity to the design which comes from the marriage between landscape and architecture… the fact the landscape is central to the design makes the project rich’

KeymasterInteresting report published today by RIBA evaluating school design in the UK.
Some really intersting stuff – see extract below:The RIBA believes the Government should review how the current generation
of centrally planned school building projects is working. The new approach
adopted by the Government when it established the EFA has succeeded in
delivering schools to incredibly tight budgets, but it has also proved to be
hugely restrictive in terms of the design and timeframes allowed for the
construction of new schools. This one-size-fits-all approach means that
opportunities to innovate or respond to local context to optimise investment
are being curtailed. With the right reforms, the results could be much better. At the heart of our argument is our belief that giving the teams designing
and building new schools greater flexibility will enable future schools to
benefit from the expertise of the professionals involved.See link here
