Well done to all participants this year, the important thing is taking part of course, not the winning…

After 6+ years, we are finally submitting a detailed reserved matters application for Central Park at Thorpe Park in Leeds. Some of the trees have already arrived from Holland, (60-70cm girth), and these are the visuals that have gone in with the application.

Our University of Wolverhampton courtyard scheme looks lovely in the sunshine. Here it is gracing the invitation to the next Forum for the Built Environment event in the Black Country. Bostin!

    Cheltenham Crematorium

James Gardner has been liaising with a local butterfly conservation charity in the Cotswold with a view to harvest grass and flower seed from the butterfly reserve on Cleeve Hill, propagate it (locally) and then sow it at the end of 2018 on a new plateaued memorial/reflection garden and the Crematorium.

It’ll be a fantastic addition to the scheme, with the potential of a locally sourced rare butterfly reserve/area within the Crematorium reflection/memorial gardens.

    Link to the Charity: https://butterfly-conservation.org/2401-1949/prestbury-hill-gloucestershire.html

The client and WDC are well excited for it so has real potential

New project in London, high density resi scheme wrapped around a central courtyard, with substantial roof terraces. Working with S333 Architects. Looks like a good one.

We got Planning Approval this week for Glenbrook Primary in Lambeth and also Les Quennevais in Jersey. Both tricky schemes in their own way but architecturally more interesting than our usual schools… Visual of Les Q below from Pick Everard so not as good as our usual stuff.

Another week, another new project. Nice work by Ben and Amy to win through onto Wickersley Park in Rotherham, working for the Parish Council in trying to regenerate the park looking at design opportunities.

We’re slowly infilling the map of Sheffield. We’ve been appointed by our Landlord, West One, to deliver the landscape design for their next city centre scheme, working with Manchester-based Leich Rhodes Walker

Not sure who here worked on Aubrey Park Hotel down in St Albans, but you may be interested to see images of the completed extension and courtyard. This project started life of through Tim Justice at CODA Studio, now at aad Architects. We survived a number of design team re-boots and ended up delivering it with Consarc Architects.

And this is what the Architects think it will look like in the context of Phases 2 and 3 behind it. And the New Era scheme behind that.

Phases 2 and 3 are on the Decathlon site but they would remain at ground floor.
